P & I staff wish stores supervisor a happy retirement

On Thursday 30th November, P & I bid a fond farewell to stores supervisor, John Bentley, as he left to enjoy his retirement.

In 2014, John came to P & I to help for two weeks and ended up staying permanently. As stores supervisor, John was responsible for overseeing the day to day running of our stores. During his time with us, John has seen us move into our new 1.5 acre purpose built property and assisted in the relocation of P & I’s stock from our old premises. No small job!

Now fully up to speed, Shaun Langrish, who joined us in July, will now take the reins of our stores department.

John commented:

“It’s been a pleasure working for P & I and I can honestly say that their staff are lovely, and I’ve enjoyed working with them all. I’m looking forward to my retirement and spending more time with my grandchildren, including our new addition who will be joining us in the coming weeks. I’d like to thank Paul and Paul for their support over the years and wish both them and P & I, all the success for the future.”

Managing Director, Paul Benfield commented:

“Myself and everyone at P & I would like to thank John for his hard work and dedicated service over the last three years. We will be sad to see John go but we hope he enjoys his well-deserved retirement. I’m sure his grandchildren and his love for horse racing will keep him busy though.”

John will most certainly be missed by office dog, Grace, who could always be found at lunchtime sharing his lunch. Just before leaving on Thursday, John was presented with a card, a bottle of Southern Comfort and theatre tickets from all the staff.

From everyone here at P & I, we would like to wish John all the best in his retirement!
